The script uses a certain pattern to recognize results it knows how to handle. Every time Google introduces a new kind of carousel or something special, then I need to add new code. They're wearing me out!! But seriously, can you give a URL for a results page that has the type of Top Stories section the script is skipping? Mine are nearly always at the top and have block buttons. I usually search logged out, in case that makes a difference.
Top stories in the middle of search result (in Google regular web search, not new search) are not subject to Hit Hider. The entries only show a name of the website (url only in href, not in text) why is probably why they are missed.
